Thurnby Mead Primary Academy is an inclusive school situated in the East of Leicester that serves approximately 250 children aged 3 to 11 years.
Thurnby Mead Primary Academy aims to provide every child with the opportunity to achieve their potential and to participate in all areas of school life. Thurnby Mead Primary works with its children to overcome any barriers to learning and boasts a special provision for children with speech and language needs.
Michelle has joined Thurnby Mead as the Principal for the academic year 2021-22. Michelle has worked across several TMET schools and was Assistant Principal and then Vice Principal at Knighton Mead for 3 years and Vice Principal at Willowbrook for the past two years.
Michelle has led Early Years, English and the curriculum in her senior leadership roles. She is a trained reviewer for Challenge Partners and embraces the collaboration and improvement at the heart of the organisation. She has worked closely with the TMET EYFS and English Networks to drive school improvement.
Michelle has been a committed teacher and Early Years Practitioner for many years and is passionate about ensuring children have the best start to their educational journey. Her love of empowering colleagues to be their best is central to her philosophy of improving the life chances of all children at Thurnby Mead.
