We are pleased to announce the appointment of Claire Stoneman as Principal for Rushey Mead Academy. Claire will join Rushey Mead from the start of the next academic year and will work alongside Gulbanu Kader, who will be taking up her role as Director of Secondary Education from September.
Claire began her leadership career at Dame Elizabeth Cadbury School in Birmingham and has held a number of senior headship roles in secondary schools. Claire is currently Director of Exemplary Leadership Programmer with another multi-academy trust and also works with Teach First and Ambition Institute. Over the last year, Claire has also published a book and has been involved in a range of interesting projects, which include a project for the British Council and the European Commission supporting the Estonian Ministry of Education to introduce and embed instructional coaching throughout Estonian schools.
Speaking of her appointment, Claire said: “Rushey Mead Academy is a wonderful school and I am delighted to have been appointed as the new principal. The entire school and TMET community have great ambition, strength and compassion. I am honoured to build on the tremendous work of Gulbanu Kader as we continue to thrive and live our expectations of each other: be kind, work hard, develop your whole self.”
We look forward to welcoming Claire in August.
