Training and CPD

At the heart of TMET is a commitment to provide pupils with access to a world-class education, schools with excellent school-to-school support, and staff with high quality professional development.

To help us fulfil that commitment, in 2022 we launched The Mead Institute, which brings together our SCITT (school-centred initial teacher training), our Teaching School Hub, and all other training and professional development we offer, for example training for governors, trustees and clerks.

Challenge Partners Network

TMET is proud to be part of the Challenge Partners national network of schools. Through The Mead Institute, we host the Challenge Partners’ East Midlands South Hub, a collection of over 30 primary and secondary schools from across our region. As well as participating in Challenge Partners reviews, the schools in our network meet three times a year and, through an annual action plan, share expertise and engage in a professional learning offer which meets our collective needs. ¬†You can find out more about our members and activity by visiting our East Midlands South Hub and if you are interested in signing up to the Challenge Partners network of excellence, please visit the Challenge Partners’ website.
