GCSE Results Day 2025: Celebrating success
Students across the Mead Educational Trust schools are celebrating excellent GCSE results today.
Around half of all students achieved a grade 5 or above in both English and Maths – an increase on the previous year. This year has also seen standout performances at Castle Mead Academy and Orchard Mead Academy, with both schools achieving a 6% increase in the number of students achieving a grade 5+ in both English and Maths.
Sarah Ridley, Chief Executive Officer at TMET, said:
“These results are a testament to the hard work, resilience, and ambition of our students, as well as the dedication of our staff. We are incredibly proud of what they have achieved, and we looking forward to seeing the opportunities that these results will open up for them as they move on to the next stage of their education and future careers. Congratulations to everyone who is celebrating today.”

Anjali, who studied at Rushey Mead Academy, achieved Level 9 grades in all subjects and will be going on to study A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Psychology and History or French.

Also among the high achievers at Rushey Mead Academy was Anoushka who achieved 9s and 8s. However, the exam board who graded her Artwork contacted the school to say how impressed they were and that her work was some of the best they’d seen nationally. Anoushka also plans to study for A-levels.

Jasleen was among the top performers at Orchard Mead Academy, achieving grade 9s and 8s across all subjects.

Bethel also achieved top results at Orchard Mead, including several 8s and 9s. He plans to continue his education and will be taking his A-levels over the next two years.
