Brookvale Groby Learning Campus joins TMET

Brookvale Groby Learning Campus has become the 15th school to join The Mead Educational Trust.

Until September 2019, BGLC comprised of two schools – Groby Community College and Brookvale High School. However, in 2019 the two schools merged to form Brookvale Groby Learning Campus.

The school provides a wide range of courses from the start of secondary school aged 11 through to GCSE and A Level.  It achieves excellent outcomes by focusing on each individual student and their learning strengths and needs. The school also has an exceptionally strong extra-curricular offering with a range of sport, music and drama activities.

Sarah Ridley, CEO at The Mead Educational Trust says:

“We’re proud to welcome Brookvale Groby Learning Campus to The Mead Educational Trust. This is an exciting milestone for us all, as we expand to a family of 15 schools across Leicester and Leicestershire. Brookvale Groby Learning Campus has a strong reputation for excellence, and we look forward to working together and supporting one another so that every child across our Trust has the very best opportunities to thrive.”

Will Teece, Headteacher at Brookvale Groby Learning Campus adds: “BGLC spent a considerable amount of time and energy, investigating MATs at both a national and local level, to make sure any changes were being made for the right reasons. Finding a trust that allowed BGLC to retain its identity, and aligned with our beliefs and values, was critical when considering any change. Over time, geographical proximity became an overwhelmingly important factor when shortlisting appropriate MATs and we are delighted to have found such an exceptionally strong trust like TMET.  I am extremely confident that it’s a well-aligned partnership that will allow BGLC to grow stronger in an increasingly challenging educational landscape.  We feel we have lots to offer the Trust  and are really excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”
