Kestrel Mead Primary Academy is situated in the growing area of Hamilton on the outskirts of Leicester City. It is a friendly, caring, lively primary school catering for children between the ages of three and eleven.
Kestrel Mead aims to offer a safe, stimulating environment which allows children to learn, achieve and be challenged. They promote healthy, active lifestyles and develop independence skills for life, and nurture positive relationships with parents and the wider community.
Zoe has been the principal of Kestrel Mead since August 2017. Kestrel Mead is made up of an infant site and junior site in Hamilton, Leicester. She is proud to lead an aspirational and culturally diverse community. She joined the school shortly after it came out of a Requires Improvement judgement and a period of time where the results that were below national expectation. There have been some significant improvements in school results in the last 2 years.
Zoe worked at Willowbrook as vice principal, inclusion leader (SENCo) and English leader. During this time, she was a national support school link working alongside a number of schools in raising achievement for pupils and removing barriers to learning. Zoe has been a Challenge Partner reviewer for a number of years and is outward looking in her approach to school and staff development. ‘If you can dream it, you can do it’ was written on Zoe’s door as an NQT and is still there as a principal, encapsulating her desire for children and staff to dream big and work hard to achieve it.
